Twenty-seven Mile (Tiger Wash) Rapid (5), at river mile 26.9, is a straightforward, read-and-run rapid, BUT, just below the tailwaves, a rockfall from the overlaying Supai Formation has scattered some fairly large boulders in the river. Depending on the water level, be ready to dodge these boulders. This rockfall is known as MNA Rapid because this rapid was first run after the rockfall by a group of river runners on a river trip organized by the Museum of Northern Arizona.
