Bedrock Rapid (7) is at river mile 131.1. The pull-in to scout this rapid is on river right at the top of the Bedrock Canyon debris fan. The scout for this rapid is along the right shore. A large schist island splits the river current in two. The easy run is to stay right as close to the shore as possible, and pull hard right once clear of boulders along the right shore to stay in the water moving right of the island. Depending on water levels, you may see a small fin of schist between the island and the right bank at the foot of the island. The left run is not recommended. If you end up running left, because there is a strong eddy on the left, you’ll need to follow the current line along the left side of the island but right of this eddy. You will then need to pull hard right and follow a small chute of fast moving water along the downstream end of the island.
